Graphic artist Mike Mills (whose piece, "Who Am I," is pictured here) is among a group of artists, which included the wonderful painter Margaret Kilgallen, featured in the documentary, Beautiful Losers, about the formation and rise of the Alleged Gallery, located in NY's Lower East Side in the early 1990's (a much different neighborhood then). There's a new biopic about Darby Crash and the late/great LA punk band, The Germs, entitled What We Do Is Secret, directed by Rodger Grossman. It stars "ER" TV hunk, Shane West, in the featured role (originally cast with David Arquette). Talk about ironic. See the NY Times article about it. After Crash's suicide, Germs guitarist Pat Smear later joined Nirvana in 1993, only a year before Cobain's death. Smear doesn't seem to have much fortune working with vocalists.
