B.W.'s PLAYLIST/ KHSU, 90.5/ SAT., 30 APRIL 2011

Formed in 1986, Sebadoh was created by Lou Barlow (after having exited Dinosaur Jr.) and Eric Gaffney in Westfield, MA. Jason Lowenstein joined in 1989, solidifying the band of three gifted instrumentalists/songwriters. However, tension brewed and Gaffney left in 1993 (he would later return to the band, only to leave again); Bob Fay replaced Gaffney, leaving Barlow with a bulk of the songwriting duties. Their 1994 album, Bakesale, is a culmination of Barlow's pop side, resulting in numerous gems that still hold up today. Sub Pop will be reissuing Bakesale with a second disc of rarities and B-sides.
