FOGOU/ BW SUBBAGE/ WED., 27 APRIL 2011/ KHSU, 90.5

Eureka native Mike Patton looking slickly Italiano. His elegant treatment of various '60s and '70s songs from Italian films, Mondo Cane, is still a record that I come back to with pleasure. Graci Senor Patton!

B.W.'s PLAYLIST/ KHSU, 90.5/ SAT., 23 APRIL 2011

Willy Deville was one of the coolest cats to roam the streets of NY's Lower East Side and New Orleans, fronting his band, Mink DeVille. Here, he's pictured with his then-wife Toots at the legendary Bowery dive, CBGB's, in the late '70s. If you're curious about Mink DeVille's records, check out their '77 debut, Cabretta, and the excellent Steve Douglas produced third record, Le Chat Bleu (1980).
