I remember seeing the 1959 British film, Room at the Top, for the first time - roughly 'round 1986 or so at The Film Forum in the Lower East Side, NY. I was floored - by the strong, independent female lead character and the actress who performed her: Simone Signoret. A long, long "distant" love affair started (and never ended) with the brilliant French actress (who won the Academy Award that year for Best Actress). Happy Valentine's Day, y'all.
